Personality

  • During childhood and youth, Praveen had to suffer many privations and had to struggle hard to exist. He paid for his education by working on Employment Guarantee Scheme’s work and by hawking newspapers at Jalna railway station. But these privations have not bred in him any bitterness or frustration. But he can be insistent for accuracy.
  • Developed on positive lines, he has a work oriented personality. Much of the credit for it goes to the reading habit ingrained in him by his mother.
  • He has a probing attitude which helps him meet changes, and he earnestly presses for faultless work; to such an extent that many consider it stubbornness.
  • He is proud of his language, Marathi. Naturally, he takes an aggressive stance when he sees Marathi being attacked or given a secondary status. He has participated in and also led many movements for the sake of Marathi language.
  • His pride for Marathi doesn’t make him hate other languages. He firmly believes that a study of other languages increases our social and cultural awareness and develops personality. He, therefore, criticizes those who pretend to love Marathi and who use Marathi as a political tool for personal gains.
  • Praveen has deep faith in Mahatma Gandhi, S. M. Joshi, Dr. Babasafeb Ambedkar and Mahatma Jyotiba Fuley. He has the bluntness of Narhar Kurundkar. But his bluntness and aggressiveness do not make him furious. He loves challenges and learns from defeat also.
  • As team leader he has an inborn style of being in the vanguard. He has the nobility to bring his colleagues along to the forefront and to share the credit for success with them. His love for accuracy and finesse in language is sometimes very extreme.
  • Praveen’s teacher- like attitude of continually teaching others is sometimes considered insulting by some. But he believes that knowledge and information are always to be shared.
  • Praveen is a person who believes that words are not just a group of letters with a meaning but that they have emotions also. So, when he comes across a new word, in any language, he enjoys searching for the original meaning, its origin and the emotion associated with that word.
  • He realizes that every human being is a mixture of good and evil. His attitude towards others that he meets, is to overlook the negative points, and search for the good in that person. His wide personal contacts are a result of this attitude. As his political ideas or affiliations do not pose an obstruction, he has large contacts and friends in every caste, religion and political party.
  • He has a perceptive, curious, sharp and yet an integrated personality.
